Today, as we celebrate the 15th Official Cold War Patriots National Day of Remembrance™, we pay tribute to those who served our country through their work in the nuclear weapons and uranium industries. Professional Case Management, through our advocacy organization Cold War Patriots, continues to lead efforts to recognize and honor workers who selflessly served. It is with great pride and respect that we commemorate their sacrifices.
Beginning in 2009, we have held in-person ceremonies to celebrate this important day. From 2020 through 2022, and due to the challenging circumstances brought about by the pandemic, we made the decision to host virtual ceremonies instead. However, we’re very pleased to announce that this year, we resumed our tradition of honoring workers through several in-person ceremonies. Our Marketing, Outreach, and Clinical Teams have partnered together to host events in:
- North Augusta, South Carolina, near the Savannah River Site on October 25th
- Santa Fe, New Mexico, near the Los Alamos National Laboratory on October 26th
- Richland, Washington, near the Hanford Site on October 27th
- Oliver Springs, Tennessee, near the Oak Ridge Site on October 30th
During these special gatherings, we heard from former workers and local dignitaries, then lit candles while reciting the names of the fallen heroes, followed by a special performance by local singers. We continued with a virtual ceremony for those who were unable to attend in person. You can view the virtual 15th Official Cold War Patriots National Day of Remembrance™ ceremony here through Friday, November 10th.
